Tech Transfer Program
Project Overview
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs wanted to highlight its Technology Transfer Program (TTP) both internally within the department and externally with a wider public audience. The VA’s TTP serves the department’s world-class researchers at its more than 100 medical centers around the country by protecting their intellectual property rights, seeking development and commercialization partners, and distributing royalties. For more than a decade, Rock Creek, through the Techlink Center at Montana State University, has used video production to promote similar success stories featuring individuals and companies that have developed innovative products through the support of government R&D funding, leading to successful ventures in the commercial marketplace.
The Challenge
The VA’s Tech Transfer Program helps shepherd innovative products through the development, patent, and commercialization processes. Our challenge was to understand the process of TTP and to visualize that content to raise awareness and bring clarity to potential inventors about the often-daunting process of bringing an idea to fruition in the commercial marketplace.
The Solution
In collaboration with TechLink Center, Rock Creek produced this infographic video to clearly communicate information about the Tech Transfer Program and its benefits to potential inventors within the VA.
