Air Force Firefighters Training Videos

For over 20 years, Rock Creek has been creating Digital Video and Audio assets for the Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) in support of their ongoing Firefighter job task training and certification programs. Courses include: Safety Officers, Operator/Driver, HazMat Operations, Confined Spaces, Aircraft Familiarization, First Responder, Incident Commander, Fire Inspector, EMT, and many more. Everything required to train, test, and certify firefighters is included in these programs with the exception of practical exercises. These courses meet all applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards and are the basis for all DoD Fire Fighter training courses.

Particular challenges with this work have included coordinating with active duty organizations across the country; working with fully dressed firefighters and hazardous materials technicians – whose ability to remain fully dressed in bunker or HazMat suits is limited; and obtaining access to mission critical apparatus and aircraft. Rock Creek has captured hundreds of hours of source materials and created many hundreds of individual video clips and thousands of audio clips in support of these programs.

The sample here is from a series of 36 realistic, scenario-based training videos depicting both the threats and a variety of response techniques and options Rapid Intervention Crews may employ to ensure the safety of fire response team members.  We traveled to Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA where we staged and shot multi-camera exercises over the course of five days with an expert team of firefighters. The videos were then posted in our Asheville, NC facility.
