Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries in older Americans, but through practical lifestyle adjustments, evidence-based programs, and community partnerships, the number of falls among seniors can be reduced substantially. The National Council on Aging supports the implementation of evidence-based falls prevention programs and serves as a national clearinghouse of tools and best practices.
Rock Creek worked with the NCOA to create this best practices demonstration video that shows how older Americans can benefit from physical exercise programs such as Tai Chi to help them be more steady on their feet.
