EPA - Drought Resistance and Recovery - Castine, ME

The Environmental Protection Agency engaged several small to medium-sized drought-impacted utilities to identify lessons learned and outline effective strategies to increase resilience to drought. Rock Creek visited utilities across the US which had faced and overcome drought to share their stories as part of a larger Drought Response and Recovery initiative. In this example, which takes place in the town of Catine, Maine, persistent drought required a multi-faceted approach.

Rock Creek was responsible for all creative aspects of these short environmental documentaries. We researched each utility’s specific story and created scripts to visually tell their stories. We traveled to each utility, shot interviews and b-roll, often using our 4k drone for fantastic images of water treatment facilities and the surrounding landscape. During the editing phase we also created product branding graphics and animations.

As part of this effort, we also produced overview videos on Managing Water Supplies, Reducing Customer Water Demand, and Building Community Partnerships. More information may be found at: https://www.epa.gov/waterutilityresponse/drought-response-and-recovery-water-utilities.
