The first "Peace Through Education film", a three-part, independently-produced documentary series about the critical importance education plays in conflict-affected areas, "Stealing the Light" focuses on the story of Dr. Mohammad Khan Kharoti, and his personal journey to build a school in his home village of Shin Kalay, in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. Through the words of teachers and students, Mohammad Khan, his family, and Afghan government officials, the film explores the impact the school has on the children, adults, and culture of Shin Kalay.
